Have never met my father Bethany has never met her father
Would like to meet my father Bethany would like to meet her father
My twin sister and I have never met our father. My mother was not married when she had us. She will not say anything about him. I never know what to tell people when they ask what he does or why I donĀ't know him. I wish I could find him but donĀ't know how?

It really hurts not to know someone who should be one of the closet, most well loved, people in your life. I didnĀ't know my father either and then before I had a chance to realize the important role he should have played in my life, he had died.

You should try not to let other peopleĀ's inquiry of your father affect you as it does. The answer is simple, we come from a broken home. In this day and age is that so difficult to comprehend? Or, are you embarrassed to admit that? You shouldnĀ't be, you had no choice in it.

Incidentally, who is listed on your birth certificate? Did your mother list someone as father? Does your mother keep a journal? Can you write your mother a letter emploring to her that, god forbid anything should happen to her, if something did happen, the information about your heritage and paternity would die with her. Leaving you with a life of questions. Maybe this would help her understand where youĀ're coming from when you ask for information?

As a side note, when IĀ've told people I come from a broken home, it usually stops them in their tracks and they either nod with a mutually understanding or simply say, Oh, IĀ'm sorry, and ask nothing more.

Hope something I wrote here helps. Best of luck!
